LocateME
We are thankful to an innovative location-based solution that is developed by AT&T in partnership with Road America, the famous in providing roadside assistance. Mobile location technology plays a major role in the development of emergency roadside assistance. Road America is responsible in developing a GPS technology solution for locating breakdown locations in seconds, even though you did not know your location.

Before, drivers needed to have installed GPS units in their cars in order to be located in the time of an accident or roadside breakdown, but with this new technology offered by Road America, this brings important safety feature to any basic cellphone, landline or smartphone on different network. We rely in telematics devices like Onstar, but it was only available on GM vehicles the result we are left stranded travelers relying only signs anything we had seen around us.

The Road America brilliantly developed LocateMe Service to help catch vehicle breakdown locations for customers by calling using any wireless or landline communications device anywhere. This innovative technology, cross-carrier offering has dramatically helps improve the speed, accuracy and efficiency of locating a customer’s disabled or stranded vehicle.

According to Dennis Fantis, president of Road America, the development of this solution has a simple goal “find a way to quickly and accurately locate disabled vehicles by using the technology drivers often already have on them – cell phones – and we needed to be able to do it regardless of which carrier they were on”. “We teamed up with AT&T to create this revolutionary offering so we are now better equipped to respond to emergency assistance calls with greater reliability and speed, ultimately enhancing our ability to keep customers safe on the road.”

Road side breakdown? Location problem? No more! just a simple call.
