When Apple released its new iOS 5 operating system to go with its iPhone 4S, it touted a new app called "Find My Friends" as a great way to track and meet up with friends. If they agree, you can see their locations on a map on your screen.

But the app's enterprising customers are apparently already finding other uses. If the online posts appearing on a chat forum at MacRumors.com are for real, "Find My Friends" may have already claimed its first marriage.

Saturday night on MacRumors, a man saying he lived in New York City posted this:
"Divorcing wife. Thanks iPhone 4s and Find My Friends.

"I got my wife a new 4s and loaded up find my friends without her knowing. She told me she was at her friends house in the east village. I've had suspicions about her meeting this guy who live uptown. Lo and behold, Find my Friends has her right there.

"I just texted her asking where she was and the dumb b---- said she was on 10th Street!! Thank you Apple, thank you App Store, thank you all. These beautiful treasure trove of screen shots [sic] going to play well when I meet her ... at the lawyer's office in a few weeks.

"thankfully, she's the rich one."

It has not been determined whether the story posted on MacRumors was, in fact, authentic, and the man did not immediately reply to a request from ABC News for comment. But more than 100,000 people have viewed the posts, according to MacRumors. More than 300 of them replied with expressions of sympathy, skepticism and -- this being the Internet -- a few less-than-savory jokes.

Arnold Kim, the editorial director of MacRumors, said it was "definitely a busy thread." MacRumors did not try to verify the man's story (if, in fact, it was a man), but said everyone who registers for its forums has to validate their email when they register.

"Find My Friends" uses the iPhone or iPad's built-in Global Positioning System to see your friends' locations on a map on the screen of your device. GPS can be accurate to within a few feet for civilian uses.

Apple says "The Find My Friends app is a great way to share your location with people who are important to you" -- whether you're trying to meet friends at a crowded concert or make sure your kids get safely home from school.

The man was back with a new post less than an hour later, including a couple of screen grabs showing the location of his wife was on East 65th St., though she sent him a text message saying, "Was hard to find stupid cab hate meat packing...."

The husband again: "She said she is in meat packing district which is on 12th street. I DONT THINK SO. Appreicate [sic] the support. not my finest hour here but going to get better soon."

The new iPhone 4S and operating system have been off-the-charts successes for Apple, which said this morning that it sold more than four million iPhone 4S in three days, and that 25 million people are now using iOS 5.

Technology watchers are particularly struck by Siri -- the voice-recognition "personal assistant" built into the new software that accepts spoken commands, answers questions, and is eerily intelligent in its responses.

There was a memorial service Sunday night for Steve Jobs on the campus of Stanford University, near Apple's corporate headquarters in California, amid widespread stories that he was deeply involved in the next iPhone -- the replacement for the iPhone 4S.

The presumably-jilted husband put up one last post Saturday night: "what really chaps my a-- is not the cheating but the fact that they were probably admiring and laughing over the new phone I BOUGHT. haha. well someone about to get the last laugh tonight."

And that was the last from him. The whole thing may have been a joke, or a domestic tragedy. Ben Crompton, who writes the Pocket Lint blog, said there have certainly been other apps before, such as Google Latitude, that let you track people through GPS signals, but Apple will make it trendy.

"The burning issue seems to be that it is a very powerful tool to have," he wrote, "bringing with it huge amounts of info to the user as well as delivering plenty of info about the user to others. For some this power will outdo the user's knowledge of how to use it properly."

"Still, on the up side," he concluded, "maybe Siri will be able to offer some marriage guidance advice."

Recently Retina-X Studios announced the availability of their PhoneSheriff, a parental control service made for mobile phones that would allow parents to restrict their children’s smartphone activities including monitoring and filtering. Over next week Microsoft has confirmed they set to launch an update for Office for Mac 2011.

The update is set to increase their security stability and new feature that includes improved Outlook syncing support as well as some enhancements of its performance.

These new update will allow Mac users to sync their Outlook calendar and also as contacts, notes and tasks with any service or device that supports Sync Services, including your iPhone and iPad.

According to Microsoft this has been one of their top feature requests. It will also enable calendar syncing between Outlook for Mac and Apple’s Sync Services.

Meanwhile MobileMe will no longer sync with MacOS Sync Services as of May 5th. As a result, Outlook 2011 SP1 calendars that sync with Sync Services on the Mac, will NOT be synced with MobileMe calendars.

So if you sync your iPhone or iPad calendars with Sync Services (ie via iTunes using cable), calendars of your mobile device WILL be synced with Outlook 2011 SP1. When you sync your iPhone or iPad calendars with MobileMe, they will NOT be synced to your Outlook 2011 SP1 calendar, due to the broken link between MobileMe and Sync Services. We are hoping that these will not affect you guys.

 The Opera Software ASA the largest mobile Internet browser provider confirmed its entry to the growing tablet computer and reached the number of 100 million cellphone users all over the world.

Opera Software has browsers for both cellphone and computers, according to their statement they have a new version of their famous Opera Mini specially design for Apple's iPad and this would appear this coming Mobile World Congress trade show next week in Barcelona

The mobile Internet market has succeeded since the introduction of Apple's iPhone in 2007. Research firm Gartner has said it expects the market for tablet computers, created by Apple's iPad, to increase to 55 million devices next year from 19.5 million this year.

Opera has edged over its rival browsers from Nokia, Blackberry maker RIM Google's Android and Apple itself. Opera controlled this year 21 percent of the market in February so far, according to Web analytics firm StatCounter. Followed by the Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia and Android browsers all have 14.4 to 17.9 percent market shares respectively.

According to Opera Software ASA they have 90.4 million users for their lighter Opera Mini browser and 15 million users for its full Opera Mobile browser.

Hewlett-Packard US computer giant unveiled on Wednesday a TouchPad tablet computer as their entry in a booming market dominated by Apple's iPad.

HP senior vice president Jon Rubinstein unveiled the Touchpad in the San Francisco shoreline within the vicinity of the Golden Gate Bridge, he is computer scientist and electrical engineer who helped created the iPod.

According to Rubinstein as he caressed one on stage TouchPad is more than just a pretty face," "The TouchPad is all about you; how you work, play, and connect with the things you value most."

Palm was bought by HP last year in a $1.2-billion deal in which some analyst believe that this move is to get the platform that could make them a contender in the fast growing competition market of computer tablet and smartphones.

This gadget will be the first webOS software platform based products in the family that Palm began developing for the past five years.

Rubinstein said that "No one has come close to replicating our webOS experience,” he was the chief executive of Palm when it was acquired by HP. The TouchPad tablet is powered with a powerfull Qualcomm processor that is "screaming fast," according to him. It weighs about 1.5 pounds (0.7 kilograms) and showing a 9.7-inch (24.6 centimeter) touch screen display most likely the same weight and screen size as the iPad.

While iPad does not run Flash or have a camera, the TouchPad software is design for easy multi-tasking, features a camera for video calling and supports Adobe Flash software wich mostly used in online video.

HP will allow freedom when it comes to making money from "apps," the analyst added. Thus it likely to win over most application developers because it should be easy to convert software crafted for iPads.

For Sarah Rotman Epps an analyst of Forrester Research the TouchPad has a great hope in beating RIM (BlackBerry maker Research In Motion) and any other Android tablet, but of course not Apple, because consumers will consider the TouchPad, and then get also an iPad." They also predicted that more than 24 million tablets, most of them iPads, will be sold in the United States this year.

A major Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month was overflowed with new tablets, and a Motorola Xoom Honeycomb based model tablet emerged as victorious as it was crowned the best gadget at the show. RIM is set to launch a PlayBook tablet computer, while Google is doing finishing touches their free Android "Honeycomb" software designed specially for that type of devices.

HP's announcement is the latest sign that this is shaping up to be the "year of the tablet wars," according to Gartner analyst Michael Gartenberg. He also said, as "Consumers are certainly expecting an iPad 2 and we've seen reports that they are in production." "Thus, this all makes Apple what to do next,"

TouchPad launch teamed up with partners that include digital magazine publishers such as Time Inc. and electronic book giant Amazon. HP plans to use its global resources to back the TouchPad along with an entire webOS "ecosystem" consisting of soon-to-be-released Veer and Pre 3 smartphones and a line of personal computers built on the platform.

HP did not disclose the information on what would be the price and when they debut in Europe and the United States in the middle of this year.
